Welcome to My Traits Lab. These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the My Traits Lab website, personality trait tests, result pages, blog articles, admin tools, media features, advertising placements, and related services. By accessing or using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

1. Definitions

In these Terms, “My Traits Lab,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the My Traits Lab website and the domain mytraitslab.com. “Site” means the website, public pages, quiz features, results, blog, admin dashboard, databases, media files, and any related functionality. “You” means any visitor, reader, test taker, administrator, or other user.

2. Educational and Non-Diagnostic Purpose

My Traits Lab provides educational content and reflective personality trait tests for self-awareness, communication, relationships, work style, emotional patterns, and personal growth. The Site is not a clinical, medical, therapeutic, psychological, psychiatric, legal, financial, employment, academic, or crisis service.

Quizzes, scores, percentages, result labels, blog posts, and personality descriptions are for general self-reflection only. They are not diagnoses, clinical assessments, professional evaluations, or proof that a person has or does not have any condition, disorder, ability, flaw, or fixed identity.

If you are experiencing emotional distress, mental health symptoms, relationship violence, a crisis, or thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, contact local emergency services, a crisis line, or a qualified professional immediately.

3. Eligibility

The Site is intended for users who are at least 16 years old or who use it with appropriate guidance from a parent or guardian. The Site is not directed to children under 13. If you use the Site on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

4. Your Responsibilities

You agree to use the Site responsibly, lawfully, and respectfully. You must not:

  • Use quiz results to diagnose, shame, harass, discriminate against, label, manipulate, or make high-stakes decisions about yourself or another person.
  • Use the Site for employment screening, hiring, promotion, insurance, medical, legal, academic, immigration, lending, or other consequential decision-making.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the admin area, database, server, code, uploads, OAuth flow, or another user’s result link.
  • Interfere with security features, CSRF protection, session controls, rate limits, robots rules, or access restrictions.
  • Upload, submit, or publish unlawful, defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, infringing, misleading, malicious, exploitative, or harmful content.
  • Introduce malware, scripts, spam, scraping tools, automated requests, credential attacks, SQL injection attempts, or other harmful activity.
  • Copy, scrape, republish, sell, or redistribute Site content at scale without written permission.
  • Misrepresent your identity, affiliation, credentials, or authorisation to act as an administrator.

5. Personality Tests and Results

Personality trait tests on My Traits Lab use self-reported answers and scoring logic to generate reflective percentage-based results. Your result depends on how you interpret the statements, your current mood, context, honesty, self-awareness, and the limitations of any simplified quiz format.

You understand and agree that:

  • Results are not objective measurements of your whole personality.
  • Results may change over time or in different circumstances.
  • A high or low percentage is not a diagnosis, warning, endorsement, or permanent label.
  • Negative or challenging traits are presented for insight and growth, not shame.
  • You are responsible for how you interpret, use, or share your result.

Some result pages may be accessible by a unique result URL. If you share that URL, others may be able to view the result. Do not share result links you want to keep private.

6. Blog and Educational Content

Blog articles and personality descriptions are general educational resources. They may discuss common social patterns, communication tendencies, relationship dynamics, workplace habits, emotional habits, and self-improvement strategies. Content may not apply to every individual or situation.

You should not rely on Site content as a substitute for qualified professional advice. Before making important decisions about health, relationships, work, education, finance, safety, or legal matters, consult an appropriately qualified professional.

7. Admin Area and Authorised Users

The admin dashboard is restricted to authorised administrators. Admin login may use Google OAuth and approved email addresses. If you are an administrator, you must keep your Google account secure, use appropriate authentication, and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

Administrators are responsible for ensuring that blog posts, images, uploads, ad code, SEO fields, writer information, and settings they create or edit are accurate, lawful, non-infringing, and appropriate for publication. Admins must not upload executable files, malicious code, unlawful media, or content they do not have the right to use.

8. Intellectual Property

The Site, including its name, branding, layout, design, code, text, quiz structure, database content, generated SVG artwork, articles, graphics, logos, and other materials, is owned by or licensed to My Traits Lab unless stated otherwise. All rights are reserved.

You may access, read, and share public links for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, scrape, clone, sell, modify, distribute, frame, or create derivative works from substantial portions of the Site without written permission, except where allowed by law.

9. Content You Provide

If you send us messages, submit support requests, upload media as an authorised administrator, or publish content through the admin dashboard, you confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to provide that content. You grant My Traits Lab a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce, edit, adapt, and use that content as necessary to operate, secure, promote, and improve the Site.

You remain responsible for the content you provide. We may remove, edit, archive, disable, or refuse content that we believe violates these Terms, infringes rights, creates legal risk, affects security, or is unsuitable for the Site.

10. Advertising, Affiliate Links, and Third-Party Services

The Site may display advertisements, affiliate links, analytics scripts, embedded content, or third-party services. Third-party websites and services are not controlled by My Traits Lab. We are not responsible for their content, policies, products, availability, security, accuracy, or practices.

Any interaction with third-party websites, advertisers, analytics providers, OAuth providers, or external tools is between you and that third party. You should review their terms and privacy policies before using them.

11. Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information, including test sessions, result tokens, technical logs, admin login data, cookies, analytics, and advertising-related data.

12. Availability and Changes to the Site

We may update, improve, suspend, limit, remove, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time. This includes quizzes, blog posts, result ranges, personality descriptions, categories, writers, images, admin features, ad placements, and technical functionality.

We aim to keep the Site reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, permanent availability of result links, or compatibility with every device, browser, hosting environment, or third-party service.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, representations, and conditions, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, and security.

We do not warrant that quiz results, articles, recommendations, SEO content, images, ads, third-party links, or admin tools will be complete, current, accurate, suitable for your needs, or free from errors.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, My Traits Lab and its operators, contributors, administrators, service providers, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, reputational harm, emotional distress, business interruption, or reliance on quiz results or content.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable law does not allow exclusion.

15. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless My Traits Lab and its operators, contributors, administrators, service providers, and affiliates from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Site, violation of these Terms, unlawful content, infringement of rights, unauthorised admin access, or use of quiz results in a harmful or prohibited way.

16. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Site or admin area if we believe a user has violated these Terms, created security risk, infringed rights, misused content, attempted unauthorised access, or acted in a way that may harm the Site or others.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms for future use.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your location require otherwise. Courts in England and Wales will have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes relating to these Terms or the Site.

19. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue in effect. The invalid part will be interpreted as closely as possible to the original purpose in a lawful and enforceable way.
